With its innovative 2,000-square-metre branch store newly opened in Esslingen in July 2019, the specialist retail chain presents itself in a new corporate design and stylishly contemporary shop layout developed by the renowned dan pearlmann Group.
The market for pet supplies is huge, more than 30 million dogs, cats and other small pets live in Germany alone. The industry is booming – especially in the E-Commerce sector. However, given the fact that most pet owners have a strong emotional bond with their pets, stationary retailers can continue to play on their key competitive advantage in the future, which is the opportunity to establish a direct, multisensory customer approach deeply linked with emotions.
People’s shopping experience at the POS is increasingly becoming the central key to success; the future lies in effectively staging the products on sale to create an exciting and eventful shopping world. At Kölle Zoo in Esslingen, the room concept designed by dan pearlman therefore conveys a genuine feel-good atmosphere: Natural colours and materials such as wood and slate provide both authentic staging and species-appropriate settings for the themed topic areas and product sections.
The award-winning agency, which has taken its two experienced partners NORDLAND GmbH (hardware) and Grassfish Marketing Technologies GmbH (software) on board for the implementation of the complex Digital Signage concept, has also been responsible for designing the comprehensive communication concept of the new store. The digital-customer-approach part of the concept focusses on the “Adoption Centre” located in the lounge area: Via screens and touch pads, potential pet owners can connect directly to animal shelters from the region, and maybe lose their heart to a future animal companion right there and then. In addition, Kölle Zoo’s online activities (promotion campaigns, special offers, events, online shop) are shown on the interactive displays.
